OVERVIEW
For six decades, Young Life has provided a positive impact in the lives
of kids around the world. Operating in 53 countries with over 3,000 staff
and over 25,000 volunteers, Young Life impacts the lives of nearly one
million kids annually through school programs, camps and other outreach
programs all intended to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ
and help them grow in their faith.
BUSINESS NEED
Young Life operates hundreds of area field offices, camp properties and
overseas programs from its Service Center headquarters in Colorado Springs,
CO. The organization needed to develop a solution that relieved the administrative
burden of field staff, provided powerful ministry tools and offered real-time
data necessary for decision making.
SOLUTION
Capernaum partnered with Young Life to deliver a Staff Resources Intranet
application utilizing Microsoft's Content Management Server. The new Staff
Resources Intranet provides staff with administrative tools, online forms
and paperwork, collaboration forums and bulletin boards, education materials
and ministry tools. Additionally, Microsoft's Content Management Server
allows staff to add and update information to the intranet quickly and
efficiently and incorporates a system of checks and balances utilizing
various editing roles for different staff. This system ensures that information
is accurate, timely and pertinent.
