A Jacksonville Internet solutions company has been
hired by a New York faith-based organization to help that city's Southern
Baptist churches grow and spread their word.
New Hope New York, an initiative of the North American Mission Board
supporting about 235 churches in the metro area, has asked Capernaum,
which specializes in Web and Internet telephony development, to integrate
its Web sites with a content management system. The system enables multiple
staff members with varying degrees of technical expertise to maintain
their content.
"We want to be able to share what New Hope New York is doing with
the rest of the world... how God is victorious through the local Southern
Baptist churches," said Bob Griner, the organization's communications
director. "Ours is a very dynamic site. The need for a quick turnaround
of content is required."
Among other things, one of the organization's sites will allow churches
to place requests for people to pray for their ministries and missions.
Capernaum's announcement comes as it wraps up its work to improve the
help desk at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach. In
the past, when Embry-Riddle students, who are scattered across the world,
submitted e-mails for technical support, they would be directed to a
general inbox that was monitored sporadically. Now, e-mails are queued
to be delivered to the first available help desk agent, and the new system
allows supervisors to monitor the process and communicate with agents.
The same system will also serve as the help desk's call center platform.
