My name is Tom Rossi and I am the President and Founder of Capernaum. Many of our clients ask us about our unique name, so we have decided to include this section in our site. I named Capernaum after the biblical city that was Jesus' center of ministry. Just as the city of Capernaum was a center of ministry, the company Capernaum is a center of ministry. In other words, Capernaum exists not only to serve its clients but also the individuals that make up the organization and the community in which it exists. These are nonnegotiable in determining our success as a company. In order to live up to our name, we have built an environment that encourages employees to be involved in their community. This includes encouraging them to participate in activities like mentoring with the Kesler Mentoring Connection; building homes with Habitat for Humanity; volunteering with Young Life, the City Rescue Mission, and the Ronald McDonald House; or participating in mission trips with various churches or mission organizations. Capernaum promotes a well-balanced approach to work and life. Employees are not consumed like a commodity, but instead built-up as individuals. They are not removed from their families, but provided with family-friendly policies that encourage a balanced home life. Additionally, Capernaum serves not only the for-profit sector, but the not-for-profit sector. We recognize the importance of not-for-profit organizations in society and endeavor to provide them with the same technology benefits as our for-profit clients. This has led us to serve organizations like Young Life, International Bible Society, Christian Broadcasting Network, The Ronald McDonald House, and Compassion International. The name Capernaum is a name worth living up to, and we as a company have chosen to pursue all that it has come to mean. All rights reserved. © 2005 Capernaum, Inc. |
